A Hard Days Labor
A Hard Days LaborRebecca A. Stone-Danahy. A Hard Day’s Labor. Oil Painting on Canvas. 36” x 48”. A Hard Days Labor was painted after viewing a slide discovered in a dilapidated cardboard box that had been moved to multiple households since my grandfather’s death in 1963. Having been an amateur photographer, my grandfather took tremendous pride in labeling and archiving his slides. After previewing some of the slides, I decided to scan some of the images and have them printed. This photograph was taken in Southwestern Virginia, most likely along the Blue Ridge Parkway where my grandfather loved to drive and photograph.

It appears they have worked to help harvest the Burley Tobacco grown on the property.
