Rebecca A. Stone-Danahy
Rebecca Stone-Danahy is a dynamic leader in arts education, focusing on driving strategic growth and program innovation. As the Director of AP Art and Design at the College Board since 2020, she has spearheaded initiatives to support a 22% course growth, leading to the largest-ever AP Art and Design Reading, improved teacher support, and promoted equity in the program. She also led the transformation of the AP Art and Design Digital Exhibit, enhancing the visibility of diverse and high-quality student artwork.
As a founder and Chief Learning Officer of Pylstone, LLC since 2013, Rebecca has developed instructional products and led webinar initiatives for the National Art Education Association, fostering professional development. Her leadership extended to her tenure as President of the North Carolina Art Education Association (2020–2022), where she oversaw strategic organizational growth and membership development during the pandemic.
Rebecca’s leadership in K-12 education spans roles as Fine Arts Director, Visual Arts Coordinator, and Department Chair, where she focused on curriculum design, event coordination, and teacher mentorship. She is a strong proponent of integrating technology into education and was pivotal in launching one of the first online distance learning programs and museum collaborations.
Her academic achievements, including an Ed.D. in Educational Systems Improvement Science (expected 2024), underscore her commitment to educational leadership and systemic improvement.
